Description:  No more guessing after this class.  Building on the foundations of chemistry, this class will help with understanding how to formulate and then how to recommend what our clients need.  Swatching is huge when learning color and the differences of each type of coloring tools that we use. First hand we will get to see how theory works and also the difference between each of each type of color. Formulation helps you become more knowledgeable so that there is no longer just grabbing a tube of color and hoping it works.   Knowledge is power.

    2. Understand levels of lift o Levels discovery

    3. Formulation with Permanent color 

      1. What is the natural level

      2. What is the target level  

      3. What is the underlying pigment / dominant pigment 

      4. What is the target tone 

      5. What is the texture of hair 

      6. What is the porosity of the hair

      7. What is the % of gray 

      8. Use color math to find out the formulations 

    4. Going Darker 

      1. 1-3 levels may not need re-pigmentation / filling 

      2. Filling / re-pigmenting hair when going 3 or more level darker 

      3. Re-pigment with warmth does not always need to be red. 

    5. Going Lighter up to (4 levels) 

      1. Permanent color will lift up to 4 levels. 

      2. HighLift color can lift 4-5 levels of lift  

      3. Texture of hair changes the amount of lift. 

  3. Swatching: Make some formulations and swatch to see the results

  4. Toning:

    1. Understand what level you have lifted to 

    2. Toners (UT) can used on level 9-10 

    3. Difference between toning and deposit only
